Breckenridge, Mallory Cave

On Saturday, we went to Breckenridge to enjoy the town before all the tourists arrive. We watched college football at a nice restaurant/bar at the foot of the slopes and it snowed almost the entire time.

On Sunday, we hiked to Mallory Cave in the Flatirons. It was a beautiful place and a really fun hike.

Grays Peak and Torreys Peak - 10/08/2005

Today we climbed Grays Peak (14,270') and Torreys Peak (14,267'). It was a beautiful day. The mountains received a lot of snow earlier this week, so the views were amazing.

Mt. Bierdstadt Revisited

Saturday, October 1st

Today, I climbed Mt. Bierstadt for the second time. My new friend, John Jost, accompanied me up Bierstadt and across the Sawtooth. I really love that hike. This time we stayed higher on the ridgeline initially and as a result, we saw a lot more cliff edges and climbing moves. Overall we had a pretty good day. We made the descent up as we went because the trail was poorly marked. Once we had regained the valley floor, we had a pretty nasty bushwack/slog through willows and marshes. Amazingly enough, we stayed dry despite all the mud. So without further ado, here are the pics.
