Snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park

We recently went snowshoeing with Jenny's work friend John Jost in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was kinda warm and the snow was compressed. But we needed the shoes when we went off trail. Despite the hype, snowshoeing is really just walking. It has a certain novelty but I mainly see snowshoes as tools to get somewhere in the winter, not much of a pursuit in their own right. It was still a lot of fun though.

In this shot, I'm standing on a frozen lake.

Not much snow down in the valley.
